How do I set up EZ-Filing to prompt me when updates become available?
In EZ-Filing > Updates
You can reset your update preferences, so that you are prompted when software updates are available.
- On the EZ-Filing main menu bar, click System>Preferences.
- In the Preferences window:
- In the Options list, select Software Updates.
Note: The right part of the window that appears shows the date of the last incremental update and the anticipated date of the next.
- In the Automated EZ-Filing Software Updates area, do one of the following:
Tip: To minimize interruptions to your work, schedule the updates for when you exit EZ-Filing.
- If your computer has a direct connection to the Internet, such as DSL, select either of the first two options. Then, specify how frequently you want the updates and whether you want them when EZ-Filing starts up or exits.
- If your computer has a dial-up connection to the Internet, select Prompt for Updates. Then, specify how frequently you want the prompts and whether you want them when EZ-Filing starts up or exits.
- To manually update the software without being prompted, select Turn off automated software updates.
- Click OK to save your preferences and close the window.
