If your client is married but not filing jointly, you can review the marital adjustment to the nondebtor spouse's contribution and revise it if necessary. By default, EZ-Filing equates the marital adjustment to the spouse’s total payroll deductions, but you can revise the default adjustment by entering allowable deductions beyond those for payroll income.
- In the main menu bar, select Client>Form B22… to open the Statement of Current Monthly Income… window.
- Select the Income tab.
- In the Spouse's actual monthly contribution field, revise the default figure.
- Next to the Marital adjustment (to actual) field, click
to open the Marital Adjustment Itemization window. - In the Details area, type an Explanation and the monthly Amount of each additional deduction.
- If you want to reset the spouse's contribution to the default amount available:
- Click Use Available.
- In the confirmation message that appears, click Yes to reset the spouse's contribution.
- Click OK to close the window and incorporate your revisions into Form B22.
