After creating and closing a client case, you can easily reopen it at any time to add or update the client information. However, EZ-Filing allows you to open only one client case at a time.
To facilitate the process of opening and closing client cases, EZ-Filing provides a centralized EZ-Manage⢠window that enables ready access to all client files and EZ-Filing features from a single location. For more information, see How do I set preferences for case management?
To open an existing client case, do one of the following:
- If you are using the default setup for case management:
- In the main menu bar, select File>Open Client to display the list of clients.
- From the list, select a client case and click Open to open the case and display the debtor name in the EZ-Filing title bar.
- To open another client case, click
to close the current case, and repeat the first step in this procedure.
- If you have set your preferences to use Case Management:
- In the main menu bar, select File>Open Client to open the EZ-Manage window.
- Select the client case in the list, and click Open in the left menu bar.
- To open another case, select File>Open Client from the main menu bar again.
The current client case automatically closes, and the EZ-Manage window reopens. Then, repeat the second step in this procedure.
