If your EZ-UpKeep subscription is current and your computer has internet access, you can download the most current version of EZ-Filing (that is, the latest major release and all current updates to it). You can do this to install EZ-Filing on a new computer or to install the latest major release on a computer on which an older release of EZ-Filing is already installed.
On a computer on which EZ-Filing is already installed, find your Customer ID number.
- In the EZ-Filing main menu, click Help>About EZ-Filing to open the About box.
- Write down your Customer ID number (nnnn-nnnn-nnnn).
Call EZ-Filing tech support (1-800-998-2424) or contact them through the EZ-Filing
Customer Service Center.
- Give them your Customer ID number.
- Request the username and password you'll need to download the latest version of EZ-Filing.
Download and install the latest version of EZ-Filing.
Prerequisite: If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, go to your desktop, right-click the shortcut icon for EZ-Filing, and click
Properties to open the
EZ-Filing Properties window. On the
Compatibility tab, under
Privilege Level, check-mark
Run this program as an administrator, and click
OK to close the
Properties window. (This step is not necessary with Windows XP.)
- Go to www.ezfiling.com/new, and follow the prompts for the
- Username
- Password
- Customer ID
If you have trouble downloading or installing the current version, make sure that your computer doesn't have a firewall or antivirus program that might prevent downloading or installation. If it does have a firewall or antivirus program, temporarily disable it and try again.
If you're installing EZ-Filing on a new computer, move your client files from your old computer to the new one:
- Find the EZ-Filing Clients folder (generally in the My Documents folder or as C>Program Files>EZ-Filing>Clients).
- Copy the folder to your new computer.
